Before there was “America’s Ass,” there was… whatever the hell this was. Long before Chris Evans was carrying the MCU on his shoulders, Tony Duran photographed a 23-year-old Evans for Flaunt and accidentally created one of the defining thirst traps of the early 2000s.
Chances are you’ve seen at least one of these photos before. They’ve been floating around the internet forever, usually cropped to hell or compressed into about twelve pixels. Turns out the pixels weren’t the important part.
And that’s where Tony Duran comes in. Nobody photographed male celebrities quite like he did in the early 2000s. The light is soft, the posing feels almost accidental, and every frame somehow lands right on that line between fashion editorial and “should this be hanging on my bedroom wall?” Sometimes all it takes is a camera pointed at exactly the right person.
Low-rise jeans hanging on for dear life, trucker hats, Polaroids, boxing wraps, a lowkey messy apartment… somehow it all works.
Twenty years later, they’re still making the rounds. Fair tbh.
