Tinashe told us she was coming for blood this era. She wasn’t lying.

Following up hazy buzz single “Party Favors” with Young Thug, the stunning seductress has dropped her first official lead single off of Joyride, her second official album. “Player” is the most logical progression in sound post-Aquarius, and a worthy addition to her ever-growing legacy.

The single kicks in, not with blast of energy, but with a swelling surge. An electropop-lite sound not unlike Ariana Grande‘s “Love Me Harder” (Tinashe’s also working with “Harder” producer and pop titan Max Martin on the album) is introduced to make a fierce combination with the “Thug Cry” singer’s own penchant for strong melody and performance energy — it’s hard not to imagine an explosive live show with this song, especially with that sexy single cover. Maybe this year we’ll get to see the rising star deservedly winning her first VMA! #JusticeForAllHandsOnDeck.

Like “2 On,” the LULOU and Alex Purple-produced song comes with enough BPM to keep you going all night in the club, but a effortless coolness to it for plays during a chill kickback. At the same time, it’s already one of her most accessible singles, catchy enough for pop radio, different enough to stand out. Don’t let us down, America.

Motherfuckers, she won’t be ignored.
