One of our favorite pop starlets is back! Selena Gomez‘s new single— “Good For You”, featuring A$AP Rocky — from her upcoming sophomore solo album just leaked ahead of it’s scheduled June 22 release date.
The song is a sensual slow burner, playing like a combination the of her expert rhythmic pop hit “The Heart Wants What It Wants” and the ethereal synths from Ellie Goulding‘s fantastic “Love Me Like You Do.” A$AP Rocky jumps in for a quick, somewhat superfluous verse, but it’s clear that Selena is the star here, showing us the most mature side of her we’ve seen yet. “Gonna wear that dress you like, skin-tight / Do my hair up real, real nice / And syncopate my skin to your heart beating,” damn.
While we’re going to miss club bangers like “Bang Bang Bang” and “Birthday,” we can’t wait to see what kind of hits Selena is cooking up in the studio, reportedly with the likes of Hit Boy, Sia, and more with Rock Mafia.
