The Park Is Open: ‘Jurassic World’ Teaser Trailer is Here

In 1993, Steven Spielberg took us on a journey off the coast of Costa Rica, to the island of Isla Nublar,  where we found a Mesozoic biological preserve called Jurassic Park. After two sequels and 65 million 14 years of waiting since the last installment, the gates are finally reopening.

Today, Universal released a short teaser trailer for Jurassic World, Colin Trevorrow‘s sequel. The trailer gives us our first look at stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in their roles as park staffers, 22 years after the incidents in the first Jurassic Park.

At only 20 seconds long, the trailer is quite the tease, but thanks to imagery of the sweeping landscape, a hauntingly stripped-down version of John Williams‘ iconic theme, the opening of the legendary gates, and a little help from Pratt’s icy-cold stare, it’s enough to give us chills and stir up nostalgia.

The gates reopen

A throwback to the Gallimimus herding scene from the 1st film
2
New methods of transportation and viewing
3
The new control center! A nice update from the desktop computers on office desks we saw in 1993. And Howard as Claire, sporting a chic bob.

Vest Pratt is the best Pratt.

And of course the updated logo

Chills! Of course this leaves us all wanting more, and thankfully we won’t have to wait very long. The full theatrical trailer for Jurassic World will premiere during Thanksgiving Day football on television networks and online at 9:00 PM EST, Thursday, November 27.
