Justin Bieber is back, and is showing no signs of stopping! Just days ago, his new single “What Do You Mean” broke records and debuted at #1 on iTunes in more than 30 countries, and reached the top spot in more than 70. He performed the hit to a frenzied crowd and national television audience tonight at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards in an energetic and emotional performance that left him (and lots of us) in tears.
If that wasn’t enough to bring back your childhood case of Bieber fever, he didn’t stop there: While we were midway through Kanye West‘s seemingly hour-long Video Vanguard Award acceptance speech/presidential candidacy announcement, Bieber’s camp quietly uploaded the music video for “What Do You Mean” and announced it with a simple tweet.

The five-minute long Brad Furman-directed cinematic video features model Xenia Deli as Justin’s love interest, and actor/comedian John Leguizamo as… whatever he is. Villain? Co-conspirator? I dunno, you’ll see.
Unfortunately, unlike the VMA performance, the music video does not feature any choreographed dancing. However, what it lacks in dance moves, it makes up for in shirtless shots and sexy bedroom moments.
Although the suspenseful mood of the video doesn’t quite match the mood of the breezy song, it somehow ends up working — especially in the celebratory ending scene. All in all the cinematic direction, the guest stars, the plot twists, and the overall quality of the video make for one of J. Bieb’s best yet — right up there with “As Long As You Love Me”.
Did you enjoy the video?
